Pray for Kuban Evangelical Christian University in Russia
Posted by Deborah.Walker on Monday November 22, 2004

The Nyack College/Alliance Theological Seminary community has been asked to give prayer support to Kuban Evangelical Christian University, (KECU), one of the few evangelical colleges in Russia. The prayer focus is that the 10-year-old institution remain open and a required license be obtained before a December 15 deadline.

Formerly known as Lampados Bible College, KECU is the manifestation of a dream and the vision of its current president, Rev. Gennady Pshenichny. He recognized the need for a Christian institution to train students for ministry when he was just 24 years old. Nearly a decade ago, the Christian and Missionary Alliance partnered with the Evangelical Christian Missionary Union, the C&MA’s partner denomination to raise funds for Lampados Bible College. This year the university graduated four men and nine women, who are equipped to take the light of the gospel to Russia and around the globe.
