NY Times Hails Rear Admiral R. Timothy Ziemer (NC '65) as "The Malaria Fighter"

A recent New York Times “Profiles in Science” article puts the spotllight on 1965 Nyack College alumnus, Rear Admiral R. Timothy Ziemer as “The Malaria Fighter.”

Admiral Ziemer was appointed the U.S. malaria coordinator by President George W. Bush. He is the son of Nathan Robert Ziemer (Nyack ’41), one of eight Christian and Missionary Alliance missionaries who lost their lives during the 1968 Tet Offensive in Vietnam.
