Rev. Charles Droppa '38 went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2012 at Milford Care & Rehab Center in Milford, MA at the age of 94. He was married to Violet "Dot" (Wing '39), who predeceased him in April 2011. They served in several churches with the C&MA for 46 years, in New York, Texas, and New Jersey. In 1970, they founded the first C&MA church in Sydney, Australia. Returning to the USA in 1974, they served the Ballston Spa, NY C&MA church for 9 years, retiring in 1983 from full-time ministry. They built a retirement home overlooking Skaneateles Lake in 1986, and Charles served as interim pastor at both the LaFayette and Syracuse, NY churches for several months in 1987 and 1988. In 2008, they moved to Massachusetts to be near their daughter. Surviving are his children, David Droppa (and wife, Sharon) and Barbara Hansen (and husband, Wayne); eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
