Allen Louis Deyo, affectionately called “Bud” since childhood, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2011 at the age of 88. Following graduation from high school, Bud joined the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served as a medic, working in military hospitals. After graduating from Nyack College in 1951, Bud enrolled at BIOLA School of Missionary Medicine in Los Angeles, CA, planning to go to French West Africa. However, he could not pass the physical exam as the humid climate in West African would have made his respiratory problems worse.

Bud worked as a Journeyman Machinist in the LA area where he became associated with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Taking summers off from his employment, he served as Clinic Nurse in the children’s clinic at Camp Good News in Fullerton, CA. During this time, Bud met Mable Ruth Davis and the couple was married on December 28, 1956. Together they had two children, Allen, Jr. and Melissa Ruth.

The Deyo family settled in Boise, ID where they belonged to Cole Community Church. Bud worked in the church and Cole Christian Schools as custodian and was a board member of Idaho State Child Evangelism. He was a gentle man who served his Lord and loved his family. Bud is survived by his wife, children, four grandchildren, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
