At the invitation of Dr. Darshanand Ramdass of NYU, students from the Nyack School of Education in Manhattan were able to share their literacy library with children in Haiti. One hundred children's books were donated to a Dominican school and an orphanage in Haiti which were left without resources following the devastating earthquake. Veer Mukhi Arya Samaj, a leader of a Long Island congregation, coordinated the collection and delivery of the books. Nyack education students inscribed the books with messages of hope and educational inspiration. Dr. Ramdass came to the NYC campus to receive the books, commenting on the generosity and Christian values of the students who gathered and inscribed the books.
