Dr. Carol Awasu Conducts Comprehensive Research and Policy Analysis on Antipoverty Programs and Families during Sabbatical

Dr. Carol Awasu, Ph.D., Professor of Social Work and Chair of the Department of Social Work (Rockland Campus), returns from her sabbatical in Ghana where she engaged in comprehensive research including: 1) a critical examination of current antipoverty programs and policies for vulnerable children and families in Ghana, 2) policy analysis and critique of an emerging public policy regarding the reunification of orphans with their Ghanaian families and communities and 3) qualitative research to develop a multifaceted counseling program for use in a Christian institution, and its national and international subsidiaries.  Dr. Awasu also facilitated a seminar for marriage counselors.
