Dr. Larry Poston, Professor of Religion, and Pamela Code, Nyack College senior, publish “Not Going Gentle Into That Good Night: Science and Religion in the Face of Death” in the Journal of Religion, Spirituality and Aging (Volume 27, Issue 1, 2015).

Abstract Synopsis: “For millennia, religions have provided rituals bringing comfort in the face of death. Modern science, however, is developing new means for dealing with this phenomenon. This article explores these issues and seeks to answer the question of whether science has contributed positively or negatively to the experience of dying.”

The Journal of Religion, Spirituality and Aging is an interdisciplinary, interfaith professional journal in which the needs, aspirations, and resources of the elderly constituencies come clearly into focus.
