Dr. Elaine Lux, Professor of English, publishes essay “Release from Torment: Finding Grace in Arthur Miller’s After the Fall, John Osborne’s Luther, and C.S. Lewis’s Till We Have Faces” in the peer-reviewed, scholarly volume: Literature of Luther: Receptions of the Reformer, edited by A. Edward Wesley and J. Christopher Edwards (Pickwick Publications, 2014).

Drawing upon stages of spiritual growth that Dr. Lux identifies in the archetypal myth of Cupid and Psyche, this interpretive consideration of three diverse works explores the dual role of an uncertainty that both can create torment within the soul and can open us to grace, as well.
