Dr. Yu examines Asian American Christian Athletes

Dr. Kale Yu, Assistant Professor of History, publishes “Athletes and Christianity,” in Asian Americans: An Encyclopedia of Social, Cultural, Economic, and Political Histiory, a three-volume encyclopedic work that was published November 2013.

Dr. Yu’s article provides a history of Asian American Christian athletes and their impact not only in their ethnic communities and American society, but also in transnational affairs. In an increasingly globalized society, Asian American Christian athletes have transcended the world of sports and engaged in matters of religious and ethnic exposure, evangelism, and bridge-builidng on a global stage.
