Nyack, NY- The women's basketball team notched their first win of the season tonight in a 71-65 come from behind win over Post University in a conference game at Bowman Gymnasium.
Post would jump out to an early 24-10 in the first eight minutes of play, but Nyack would close the half with a 23-14 run of their own to trail the Eagles by five points at 38-33 at the break.
After a back and forth start to the 2nd half, Nyack would take the lead for good with six minutes left in the contest, and Post would not come closer then 2 points for the remainder of the game as the Warriors went on to a 71-65 win.
Khamari Tellis would lead the Warriors on the offensive end for the 2nd straight game with 21 points on 7-17 shooting. Tellis would also pull down 13 rebounds, add 5 assists and 1 block. Meghan Richards chipped in with the first double-double of her college career with 12 points and a team high 14 rebounds. Courtney Peay and Ashley Tallman each reached double figures in scoring with Tallman totaling 12 points and Peay adding a season best 13. Britney Mitchell would also dish out a team high 6 assists in the win.
Nyack returns to action next Saturday when they travel to Wilmington, Delaware to take on Goldey-Beacom.
