Nyack, NY- The men's basketball team suffered a narrow defeat at the hands of Post University this evening by a score of 75-74 in a conference game this evening at Bowman Gymnasium.
Post would lead 14-13 seven and a half minutes into the contest but would close the half with a 25-15 run to end the half up 39-28. Nyack would storm out of the gate in the 2nd half with a 27-15 run of their own to lead 55-54 with ten minutes remaining in the contest. Post would pull back out to a 73-66 lead with a minute and a half remaining, but the Warriors would create several Post turnovers to trail 75-74 with six seconds to play. The clock would run out on Nyack's game winning attempt in their final possession as Post held on for the win.
Nyack's most balanced offensive attack of the season would see five players reach double figures in scoring. Jose Pena-Benjamin would lead the Warriors with 21 points on 7-13 shooting. Chris Hampton would also tally 13 points, Khalid Samuels would register 12, and Chris Gibson and Lafayette Curtis would add ten points each. Curtis also pulled down a season high 15 rebounds in the loss.
The Warriors return to action next Saturday when they travel to take on Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware.
