Women's Basketball Falls to Philly U

Philadelphia, PA- The women's basketball team was defeated by Philadelphia University yesterday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at the Gallagher Center by a score of 81-48 yesterday evening. The loss drops the women's record to 0-7 and 0-3 in conference play.

The Lady Rams (7-2, 3-0 CACC) scored 29 of the game's 38 points over a 12:23 span to grab a 29-9 lead. The Lady Rams defense forced 15 turnovers to help them get away from the Warriors (0-7, 0-3 CACC).

The Warriors rallied to cut the gap to 34-25 with 3:09 left in the half behind a 12-2 run. Brittany Mitchell scored five of her six points during the burst.

Philadelphia recovered to close out the half by netting 10 of the half's final 11 points and take a 44-26 lead to intermission. The Lady Rams' advantage never dipped below 20 over the game's final 15 minutes.

Ashley Tallman would lead Nyack in scoring with 8 points and a team high 3 steals. Khamari Tellis would pull down a team high 8 rebounds in the loss.

The women will return to action on December 30th when they host St. Anselm's at Bowman Gymnasium in a non-conference game. Tip-off is slated for a 5 PM start.
