The Field House is complete. The turf has been laid, the basketball court installed and lined, and the new equipment that will facilitate the field house has been delivered and installed.
The Field House (FH) enables students and athletes to play all court and field sports 12 months of the year. It also contains a hitting net for golfers and a batting cage for our softball and baseball teams.
This air conditioned facility allows athletes to participate and exercise indoors when relief is needed from the heat and sun in the "dog days" of summer.

The Field House is a new structure on the Nyack College Campus. Ground was broken in October of 2000 to begin the new domed air structure. Funding for the $750,000 Field House was given by Nyack College Alumni designated for this expressed purpose. The Field House will be attached to Bowman Gymnasium and will be able to accomodate as many as 1,600 people. The 120-foot by 230-foot enclosed, air-conditioned building will contain a state-of-the-art synthetic turf field and basketball court. The anticipated completion date is Spring of 2001.
In Phase 1 the old basketball and tennis courts were removed.
In Phase 2 the foundation was layed.
Work began in the fall with the removal of the existing outdoor basketball and tennis courts. Digging began to pour the footings for the Field House. However, due to the wet Fall and the unusually heavy snow, work on the FH had to be postponed until this spring. The wet spring slowed the progress of the FH, but the footings were poured and the foundation prepared.
In Phase 3 the exterior structures were erected and installed.
As accessories were delivered they were erected and installed, including the doors, the heating and air conditioning units, and the compressor that keep the air structure inflated.
In Phase 4 dome was layed out on the foundation.
The dome was layed out on the foundation and once again the rain came. For nearly a week the Nyack community waited for the dome to be inflated.
