Warriors Softball Announces 3 Signings
Women's Softball
Nyack, NY- Warrior's softball coach Joe Rodriguez has announced 3 more signings for the quickly approaching 2010-2011 school year in Rebecca Ferry, Jackie Gonzalez, and Kia Jelley.
Rebecca Ferry comes to Nyack by way of Rhinebeck High School where she won 2 NYS class C championships. Rebecca also was named an honorable mention all-star by the Poughkeepsie Journal and the Kingston Freeman.
Kia Jelley begins her freshman year with the Warriors after an outstanding high school career at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts. During her high school career she amassed over 500 career strikeouts from the mound and was named an All-Western Massachusetts selection her freshman and sophomore years and was named an All-Prep player as a Junior and Senior.
Jackie Gonzalez will make the trip North this fall from her hometown San Antonio, Texas where she attended William Howard Taft. As a four year varsity starter in the class 5A big school division she lettered in both softball and cross country while at Taft. While playing softball she helped her team win district championships and reach the state semi- finals twice. Jackie was named to the EN all district team her freshman, junior and senior years, In the class room, she maintained a GPA of 3.4 and received the Academic of English Scholars award.

Nyack, NY- Nyack Softball Coach Joe Rodriguez has announced 2 more signings for the upcoming fall in Kathleen McClain and Tesla Murillo.
McClain comes to Nyack from West Woods Christian Academy where she was a 4- sport athlete, also playing volleyball basketball and soccer. McClain is capable of playing both third base and shortstop
Murilo is a resident of
Indio, California where she recieved multiple accolades including 1st Team,2nd Team, Honorable Mention, Best Defensive Player 2 Years in a row,All DVL, and 4Year Varsity Player and a Prayer Warrior.
Softball Announces 3 Early Signings
Women's Softball
Nyack, NY- The women's softball team has announced its 1st 3 signings for the upcoming fall in Alexandra DeVries (Bay Shore, New York), Theresa Hendrix (Cheverus High School, Maine), and Bethany Reed (Tiverton, Rhode Island).
Alexandra DeVries is a 3 sport Athlete who has garnered all-conference awards as a softball player, an All-County selection in bowling and an All-League volleyball player. For the past 6 years and this summer, she has played travel softball with the Long Island Express.
Theresa Hendrix has led Cheverus High School over the past couple of years to be one of the top teams in Western Maine (Class A). In her junior year as Co-Captain and pitcher she had a record of 11-5, 124 strikeouts with only 30 walks along with a 1.69 era..This past season for Cheverus she batted .446 with a slugging percentage of .804 leading the team in hits , doubles , tied for triples, and steals. She has made 2nd team all-conference the past two years.
In 2008 she lead the U-16 Southern Maine Flames(one of the top softball programs in Northern New England) in hitting with a .448 batting average. Hendrix was recently named runner up as Miss Maine softball player of the year. http://www.bangordailynews.com/detail/147464.html
Theresa has been a 4 year varsity player in Softball, Field Hockey and Basketball and has been a captain in all three sports in her Junior and Senior years.Theresa is also a captain on the field hockey team that finished with a 15-2 and lost 2-1 in the Western Maine championship.Also, she was made the all-academic team in Field Hockey and Basketball. Her senior year in Basketball she made the All Defensive team(Western Maine class A) 2nd team all conference as she lead Cheverus to its best finish in History (13-5) .
Bethany Reed is from Tiverton R.I., and currently plays on the Bishop Stang High School softball team. Her primary defensive position is first base, and she is a three time EAC All-Star. In addition to that, she was named to the Fall River Herald News All-Scholastic softball team in 2009. From the age of 10, Beth has played travel softball with the Southeastern Mass. Xtreme. While playing for the 18U Xtreme in 2009, she achieved a batting average of .425, with 2 homeruns and 32 RBI’s.
Softball Swept by Georgian Court 9-0, 10-0
Women's Softball
Lakewood, NJ- The women's softball team was swept today by Georgian Court by a score of 9-0 and 10-0. The Warriors fall to 2-15 on the season and 0-6 in CACC play.
A bright spot in the loss for Nyack, Christina Perez would finish the day 3-4.
Nyack returns to action tomorrow when they play host to Caldwell College at home with game time set for 3 PM.
Women's Softball Earns Split Against STAC
Women's Softball
Nyack, NY- The women's softball team earned a double header split today against STAC. The Warriors won game 1 by a score of 4-1 and were defeated in game 2 by a score of 11-5.
Sarah Bolles would pick up the victory on the mound in game 1, with solo home runs by Lauren Campbell and Christina Braziel leading the Warrior offense on its way to the win.
The women play host to Wilmington University this Saturday in a CACC double header beginning at 1 PM.
