Women's Basketball Contines to Roll with 60-49 Win Over Goldey-Beacom

Philadelphia, PA- The women's basketball team won their 6th consecutive game this afternoon with a victory over Goldey Beacom by a score of 60-49. The win is Nyack's 15th on their season and they move their conference record to 11-3 in 2010. The loss drops Goldey Beacom to 8-6 in conference play and 12-10 on the season.
The Warriors would dominate the first 12 minutes of play in the first half, leading the Lightning by 18 points by a score of 22-3. Nyack would keep GBC to single digits in scoring in the first half, taking a 31-9 lead into the break. The Warriors would lead by as many as 27 points in the 2nd half, before eventually winning by 11 points at 60-49.
Shelly Yount would lead the Warriors with 15 points in the win, and Jasmine Minter also totaled 14 points with a team high 4 assists and 5 steals. Victoria Sweet and Bobbi Van Fleet would each tally 10 points in the win with Sweet putting up another double-double with 12 rebounds.
The Warriors return to action in another big conference game this Tuesday when they play host to Felician College. Tip is set for 6 PM.
