Villanova University; Ph.D. Biola University Ron Belsterling ( Ron.Belsterling@nyack.edu) was born and raised in the Pittsburgh (home of the Steelers and Penguins) area of Pennsylvania. He met his wife Julie at Grove City College where they both attended in the early eighties. They have been married for almost 25 years and have 3, by the grace of God, saved & wonderful, children: Sam attends Grove City College and majors in Business Communications/PR, Joe is finishing High School and plays lacrosse and basketball, Emily attends High School and participates in tennis and Odyssey of the Mind. Ron is in his 2nd decade of teaching at Nyack.
He accepted Christ at a Billy Graham event as a child. The seed didn't produce fruit until years later. Near the end of highschool, Ron began reading the Bible. During college, commitment to God became whole hearted devotion (as opposed to select bits & pieces). God has been abundantly merciful and gracious to him.
Ron has attended: Grove City College (B.A.-Double Major: Religion & Psychology); Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (36 credit hours); Villanova University (M.S. in Counseling); Syracuse University (A.B.D. Child & Family Studies); and, Biola University (Ph.D. in Education). His academic study focuses on adolescents and attachment relationships.
Ministry and work with teenagers and children continues to occur through regular speaking, preaching and writing opportunities, and Ron's involvement in Young Life (Tri-State YL Committee Chair, approved driver, etc.); his Church (VBS, Upwards Basketball, & 5th Quarter [post-HS football game youth gatherings]); and providing consulting to the Cross and Crown Foundation (global effort to bring water, etc..to those in depressed areas). North American Baptist Seminary; Ph.D. Fordham University Len Kageler, Ph.D. (Leonard.Kageler@nyack.edu) is Professor of Youth Ministry. Before coming to Nyack full time in 1993 he spent 20 years as a full time youth pastor. He continues to minister to youth as a junior high volunteer at Living Christ Church here in Nyack.
Len received his BA from the University of Washington, his M.Div. from the North American Baptist Seminary, and a Ph.D. (Sociology) from Fordham University in New York City. He speaks and presents seminars around North America and the world. He has written many books, including: two for youth, three for parents of teenagers, and four for youth workers. His latest book, The Volunteers Field Guide to Youth Ministry was released by Group Publishers in February 2011.
In 2012-2013 Len will present academic papers and conferences in Dallas Texas and Cambridge University in the UK. His newest book, Youth Ministry in a Pluralistic Culture, will be published by InterVarsity Press in 2013.

Gregg Makin's Faculty Profile
Gregg Gregg.Makin@nyack.edu has been a Youth & Family Studies Adjunct Professor at Nyack College, at the Manhattan campus, for the past 5 years. His willingness to serve students beyond the classroom brings stability to the city program. He and his wife, Joyce, have been married for 31 years and they have two grown children in their 20's. Growing up in central PA, Gregg began his personal relationship with Jesus Christ as a teen. During those years he also learned to root for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
As a Youth Pastor and Youth Leader, Gregg has been working in the field of Youth Ministry for over 31 years. He currently ministers as the Discipleship Pastor at Living Faith Christian Church on Long Island, where he has been serving since 1983. He has a passion for community, and for helping people get connected to God and with one another.
In addition to loving to run and bike, Gregg plays tennis, raquetball and frisbee golf. He also avidly reads anything by NT Wright, J. Ortberg, and Cloud & Townsend.

Shaylee, Shaylee.Perez@nyack.edu has been teaching in the YFS Department for Nyack since the Fall of 2012, at both the Manhattan and Rockland campuses. She was born and raised in the Bronx, and currently lives in New York City with her husband, Anthony, and daughter, Emily. Shaylee and Anthony have been married for 15 years.
In addition to being a regular Adjunct Professor in YFS at Nyack College, Shaylee currently practices as a licensed, bilingual, Clinical Psychologist in New York, N.Y. Other responsibilities include working as a Visiting Faculty member for the Teacher’s College of Columbia University and a Clinical Supervisor for the ABC Project for New York University. She holds membership in the American Psychological Association as well. Relative to ministry, Shaylee serves as the Asst. Director of Youth Ministries for the Spanish Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in New York, NY, where she has been helping to lead the youth ministry since 2005.
In the past Shaylee has worked as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Intake Coordinator, Clinical Instructor, and Field Supervisor for Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Previous youth ministry experience includes leading as the Assistant Youth Director of the Spanish Western Youth District of the C&MA, while also serving as a Youth Leader in her local church in Fullerton, California.
In her spare time, Shaylee leads workshops on raising healthy children and adolescents.
