Student Leadership 2015-2016
“Great leaders don’t set out to be a leader… they set out to make a difference. Its never about the role-always about the goal. – Lisa Haisha
Student leadership or as we often refere to it , Servant leadership is what we practice here at Nyack College. The Office of Leadership Training is a place where current students are able to explore their identity as a leader. For some this will mean taking on formal leadership roles on campus such as Resident Assistants, worship leaders, Student Activities team members or other roles. For some students explore their leadership identity will give them the experience and tools necessary to facilitate leadership, build awesome teams and understand various means of communication not just now while in school but in their desired careers.
The office of leadership training hosts 3 seminars a semester on various leadership topics that are open to all students who desire to attend. Completion of all 6 seminars will result in a certificate of participation for the student. Currently the office of leadership training is developing seminar class where students who have participated in the workshops or who have a new interest in leadership will be able to develop and awareness of who they are so that they can continue to grow.
